London Ambulance Service
- The National Audit Office Report on violence towards healthcare workers, released in April 2003 showed that the highest risk workers were those working in mental health, followed by emergency ambulance personnel. The London Ambulance Service data on assaults showed there were geographical areas where staff consistently faced high levels of abuse, threats and assaults.

- The 2003/03 British Crime Survey showed that 1.9% transport workers were victims of assault of and 1.3% received threats. 22% were very or fairly worried about violence at work. South West Trains has run a co-ordinated strategy to reduce the risks for its staff, working in partnership with British Transport Police and Maybo.

- A Maybo survey (2005) showed that 72% of secuiryt personnel have experienced verbal abuse, and 26% have experienced a physical assault. MacLellan Attlaw Security Ltd provides event stewards for Chelsea and Fulham football ground. Some are part-time and many have experience working ‘on the door’ or in other security roles. The role of the stewards is to search and when necessary eject football supporters from the ground.
