Medals for Excellence

The Medals for Excellence programme recognises and rewards exceptional people whose work makes them really stand out.

If you know of a learner whose dedication and talent enables them to produce work of an exceptional standard, or a lecturer or trainer who goes beyond the call of duty in motivating and inspiring their class, then we really would like to hear from you!

Winners receive:

  • an invitation to a local awards ceremony where they can celebrate with friends and family
  • an invitation to the Medals for Excellence Dinner where they will be in the running for one of eight prestigious Lion Awards
  • the opportunity to win one of many additional prizes awarded by supporters of City & Guilds
  • an engraved golden medal and a certificate. Winners' centres also receive a certificate
  • great PR opportunities for their centre

‘Without City & Guilds courses many people never get started. Without dedicated teachers learning would not be there. The last two years have given me direction to find what I have always wanted to do. I can only thank everyone involved. My greatest gratitude!’ – Medals for Excellence winner, 2008-09

Want to make someone's year? To nominate someone for a Medal for Excellence simply complete the appropriate nomination form and send it with a maximum of five pieces of evidence to us, before the closing date of 24 July 2009.
