This qualification is designed for clinical staff such as nurses, nurses in training, doctors, paramedics who regularly use infusion devices in their practice. It is also aimed at medical device trainers and others who do not have a clinical background. The qualification is not available to staff, such as healthcare assistants, who are unregistered and are not working towards professional registration.

The qualification combines the development of knowledge with the development of practical skills. It aims to provide learners with a clear, coherent outline of the type of practical issues which they may encounter in their practice as users of infusion devices.
