What Is Involved In Studying This Course?

Depending on the level you choose, you'll cover areas like:

  • skin testing prior to treatment
  • using electrical treatments for skin and face conditioning
  • understanding health and safety in the salon
  • learning about the entire consultation process for all treatments.

For an IVQ in Beauty Therapy you'll be assessed on practical demonstrations, assignments and written exams.

Which level is right for me?

Level 1
You're just starting out in beauty therapy and want a basic understanding of the industry - enough to succeed in a job in the beauty therapy area or move on to further study.

Level 2
You've some experience from working in beauty therapy and want to increase your knowledge and skills, perhaps in order to take on greater responsibility at work.

Level 3
You've worked in the beauty therapy industry for some time - you have plenty of experience, and your work might involve supervising others or managing salon resources. You want to develop your skills further, possibly moving into a salon management or ownership role.

What Is Involved With Delivering This Course?

Level 3

The Level 3 IVQ Advanced Diploma in Beauty Therapy is ideal if you've worked in the beauty therapy industry for some time - you have plenty of experience, and your work might involve supervising others or managing salon resources.

You complete 10 core units at this level, including:

  • Maintain and improve salon services to the client
  • Treat clients using body massage techniques
  • Improve face and skin condition using electrical treatments
  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of salon promotional activities.
