What Is Involved In Studying This Course?

These qualifications cover all the essential administration and communication skills you need to ensure the efficient running of your office, including:
  • Phone skills
  • Preparing letters and memos
  • Filing and indexing
  • Effective communication
  • HR procedures.

You will learn on the job in the work environment, or in the classroom.

Assessment is through an externally set and marked written test.
Which Level is right for me?
Level 1
You may be preparing for your first job in an office, or are new to the role. You want to develop basic administrative skills in areas such as preparing documents, filing and dealing with colleagues and customers. You may also want to improve your skills in areas such as HR procedures, business documents and dealing with invoices and expense claims.
Level 2
you have experience of general office work and want to increase your knowledge of communications, office systems and the use of office equipment to demonstrate your ability and progress in your career in order to take on further responsibilities.

What Careers Can This Lead To?

These qualifications can help you to progress in a wide range of clerical, office-based roles including:

  • PA/Secretary
  • Office manager
  • Administration assistant
  • Clerical officer
  • Receptionist
  • Legal or medical secretary.

These all-round qualifications in office procedures can also lead on to a range of administration qualifications including:

  • Levels 1, 2 and 3 Award, Certificate and Diploma in Business Skills (7593)
  • Levels 2 and 3 Certificate and Diploma for Legal Secretaries (7465).

 

What Is Involved With Delivering This Course?

To deliver these qualifications you will need suitably qualified staff to carry out training and assessment.

You will also need suitable facilities to carry out the required training to enable learners to achieve industry standards.

Level 1

Level 1 will suit you if you are preparing for your first job in an office, or have some experience in the role. You want to develop basic administrative skills in areas such as preparing documents, filing and dealing with colleagues and customers.

This is a single-unit qualification.
