You will have the potential to fulfil a role within Engineering that requires a high level of responsibility requiring the use of personal initiative and critical judgement.

These qualifications are ideal for someone preparing for first-level management, with a sound knowledge of technical principles in one or more specialised branches of Engineering. It is also appropriate for someone who wishes to receive specialised training at a high level.

What Is Involved In Studying This Course?
These qualifications focus on the practical skills required to work as technician or manager within the engineering sector. You will be able to choose from a range of units to specialise in an engineering sector for a career that's right for you. Alongside practical application, these qualifications will build your knowledge of the principles of mathematics, science and technologies that underpin engineering.
What Careers Can This Lead To?
These qualifications are ideal for first-level management or for people wanting to advance as an Engineering technician in the following fields:
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • Civil Engineering

Those interested in progressing further in Engineering, for example to university or to register for professional status, should also consider these qualifications as part of their progression.

What Is Involved With Delivering This Course?
The qualifications will be open for registration from September, 2014. 

To deliver these qualifications you will need qualified assessors - you can train internal members of staff or recruit specially.

You will also need suitable facilities to carry out the required training to enable learners to achieve industry standards.

You will also need to download and complete the qualification approval form and send it to your local City & Guilds office.

Anyone can take this qualification, but you must make sure all your learners can access the resources they need to be successful.

Level 4
