Diplomas for the Hair Professionals-Hairdressing and Barbering (7002)

The Level 2 Diploma in Professional Hairdressing and Level 2 Diploma in Professional Barbering are newly created based on employer needs and have been designed by employers for learners wishing to gain an apprenticeship within the Hair Professional arena. 

Both Diplomas will lead to the achievement of the Hairdressing Professional Standard alongside the relevant functional skills and the EPA module. 
The Diplomas for the Hairdressing Professional and Barbering Professional are qualifications designed for learners who are at least 16 years old and who wish to develop the skills and knowledge needed to begin to work either as a Hairdresser or as a Barber. 

They may have previously completed a Level 1 qualification in the relevant subject area.   Learners wishing to complete these qualifications will be doing so as an employed, apprentice in a real work environment.

What Is Involved In Studying This Course?

Both Diplomas cover all of the core knowledge and skills needed to become a competent Hairdresser or Barber.  The Hairdressing Professional Diploma provides the learner with the opportunity to develop different skills by choosing from a selection of optional units.  Both qualifications also include an element of End Point Assessment (EPA).

What Careers Can This Lead To?

Learners achieving the Diploma in Professional Hairdressing can gain employment in a salon as a Hairdresser, carrying out day to day tasks such as: 
customer service 
shampooing hair 
basic cutting 
styling and finishing hair 
colouring services.

Learners achieving  the Diploma in Professional Barbering can gain employment in a salon as a Barber, carrying out day to day tasks such as: 
customer service
shampooing hair
cutting hair 
preparing for shaving services 
cutting facial hair.
