Our professional qualifications in hairdressing help learners launch and develop their careers as hairdressers, barbers, wigmakers and salon managers. Salon assistants can quickly work their way up in the hairdressing industry. There are many opportunities to become managers, trainers or owners.
City and Guilds work with a vast number of employers, industry experts and professional associations from across the hairdressing and barbering industry areas. Our Industry Advisory Board is formed of these people and work with us to ensure that we continually strive to meet the needs of people joining employment in our industry.
Together we seek to continually raise professional standards and shape the future of hairdressing and barbering. City and Guilds are proud to work in association with this inspiring group.

Apprenticeships in England are delivered under either apprenticeship standards or SASE frameworks. SASE frameworks are being phased out and replaced by the standards.
A digital credential will be issued to learners who have completed their programme and where a valid email address has been provided.
