Last Updated: 27 May 2016
To hold a licence to sell or serve alcohol in Scotland, you need a recognised qualification, and to work in Scottish licensed premises you must have sufficient training.

These short courses give licence holders the skills they need. The licence holders' qualification covers both Off Sales (shops) and On Sales (pubs, clubs, bars and restaurants).

The refresher qualification is for those licence holders who now need to update their learning to ensure they can continue to hold a licence.

The Scottish Certificate for Personal Licence Holders is for anyone applying for a licence to sell or serve alcohol in Scotland.

The Scottish Certificate for Personal Licence Holders (Refresher) is for anyone who holds a current PLH qualification and needs to update their learning in order to continue to hold a full licence.
