International Listening ESOL (8961)

The City & Guilds International ESOL – Listening examination offers a comprehensive test of Listening skills in English at A1 level which can either be taken as a stand-alone examination or a complement to the International Spoken ESOL examinations.
International ESOL – Listening qualification is designed to reference the descriptions of language proficiency in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) at A1 level. The levels in the CEFR have been mapped to the levels in the National Qualifications Framework for England Wales and Northern Ireland.

Acceptance of City & Guilds International ESOL (IESOL) and Spoken ESOL (ISESOL) certificates for UK visa purposes 

City & Guilds is not renewing its license with UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) to be a Secure English Language Test provider. This will come into effect on 6 April 2015. Any certificates issued for International ESOL (IESOL) and Spoken ESOL (ISESOL) examinations held before or on 5 April 2015 can be used for UK visa applications until 5 November 2015. Any IESOL and ISESOL certificates issued for examinations held on or after 6 April 2015 will not be accepted as part of the visa application process.
