The Level 4 Certificate for Technology in Learning Delivery qualification has been developed by education practitioners for aspiring learning professionals, including learning assistants looking to qualify as tutors, assessors, lecturers and trainers.

It is designed to enable professionals to effectively use technology in their learning delivery and assessment activities. It may also benefit 16–18 year olds looking to go on to teacher training or become learning assistants.

For those who are currently working as a;

  • lecturer
  • trainer (in a school, college, private training provider or organisation)
  • learning assistant to looking to become a tutor or assist in material development
The Level 4 Certificate for Technology in Learning Delivery qualification will provide the opportunity to develop competency in blended learning and assessment based on pedagogy.

It is expected that those taking this qualification will hold or be working towards a Level 2 or 3 ITQ, an equivalent ICT user qualification to ITQ or experience in using a range of application software.

What Is Involved In Studying This Course?

Learners will cover the key aspects of the qualification through Learning, Applying and Sharing their material development as part of this they will learn essential topics, such as;
  • Safe and secure use of technology
  • Using IT tools in collaborative working
  • Techniques for the use of technology in learning in their organisation.

You will learn mainly on the job in the work environment, but some learning may be classroom-based.
Assessment methods include portfolio of evidence, assignments, centre-devised scenarios, observation, and testimony of expert witnesses.

This is ideal for those wishing to learn how to effectively use technology as part of their delivery and assessment for their given subject. It is expected that the learner would hold a minimum of Level 2 ITQ or equivalent IT User qualification.

What Is Involved With Delivering This Course?

In order to offer the Level 4 Certificate for Technology in Learning Delivery, centres should have suitably qualified staff to carry out training and assessment, with facilities to carry out the required training to enable learners to achieve required standards.

Centres currently offering the City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (7304) and/or City & Guilds Level 2 and Level 3 Certificate or Diploma for IT Users - ITQ (7574) can gain fast-track approval.

Level 4

The qualification has been designed for those wishing to learn how to effectively use technology in learning and assessment environment. It is expected that the learner would hold a minimum of Level 2 ITQ or equivalent IT User qualification or have experience in the use of a range of software applications, they may also have taken or be working toward a teacher/trainer qualification.

This qualification comprises three mandatory units:

  • Using collaborative technology
  • Applying the use of technology to learning delivery
  • Sharing knowledge and understanding of technology in learning delivery.
