Imprisonment can have far-reaching effects on the physical and mental health of the prisoner's family. This qualification will help you to gain the knowledge and understanding needed to develop services to meet the needs of prisoners' families.
This qualification is aimed at those working with prisoners' and offenders' families, including: prison staff, children's centre workers, school staff, play workers, health visitors, youth workers and family intervention teams.

What Is Involved In Studying This Course?

You will cover areas which demonstrate the specialist knowledge and skills you have developed, such as:

  • Evaluating the impact of imprisonment on family members and society
  • Identifying the needs of the family and how these can be met by statutory and voluntary provision and resources.

You will learn on a short classroom-based course.

Assessment will also be through coursework, portfolio of evidence and assignments.

What Is Involved With Delivering This Course?
