This qualification aims to provide people working within agriculture and production horticulture with knowledge to help them protect their own health and safety and the health and safety of employees who may be affected by their activities.
The Level 2 Award has been developed for those working in horticulture and agriculture at an operational level.

What Is Involved In Studying This Course?

This award is ideal if you are working in agriculture and horticulture production and have some relevant knowledge and skills, usually from a role where you've been supervised.

To earn this qualification, you must complete one mandatory unit, Safe Working in the Land-Based Sector.

The qualification covers the essential knowledge you need to keep yourself and your colleagues safe, including:

  • safe working
  • risk assessment
  • controlling risk.

You will learn on the job in the work environment and complete assessment exercises and an online test.

These qualifications can help you to work safely in a range of roles in horticulture and agriculture production.

What Is Involved With Delivering This Course?

To deliver this qualification you will need qualified assessors - you can train internal members of staff or recruit specially.

You will also need suitable facilities to carry out the required training to enable learners to achieve industry standards.
