Focussing on the key principles involved in carbon management, on successful completion of these qualifications, the learner will be equipped to help their organisation meet the requirements of the Climate Change Bill and to help effectively in developing carbon management strategy and reducing carbon emissions. 
The Carbon Management qualifications are for anyone working in an industry who is tackling carbon management issues. It is especially appropriate if you work in engineering, manufacturing and process industries. You don't need any prior qualifications.

What Is Involved In Studying This Course?

The qualifications have been designed with Government policy in mind to understand the legislation around carbon emissions and energy consumption today.

The units within this qualification are inclusive to people from all industries as the skills are universal across the board.

The qualifications look at areas such as:

  • international climate regulation
  • climate change impact
  • carbon taxation
  • energy management tools
  • supply chain carbon emissions.

For a Carbon Management qualification, you'll usually learn in a group with your training provider. Or, you may have the option to learn on your own via correspondence.

Which level is right for me?

Level 2
is ideal if you have a direct day-to-day operational role in reducing your organisation's carbon levels and improving energy efficiency as part of a wider corporate strategy.

Level 3 is complementary to many industry jobs, particularly, but not exclusively, within manufacturing, processing, transport, and engineering. Anyone part of an organisational shift towards better carbon management would find this qualification useful.

Achieving this qualification can help you work more effectively in almost any job where carbon management is an issue.

Those who are interested in moving into a role where you make decisions on carbon management strategy could progress from the Level 2 qualification to Level 3.

What Is Involved With Delivering This Course?

In order to offer the Carbon Management qualification, you will need qualified assessors - you can train internal members of staff or recruit specially.

You will also need suitable facilities to carry out the required training to enable learners to achieve industry standards.
