What Is Involved In Studying This Course?

You can choose the qualification that demonstrates the specialist knowledge and skills you have developed, such as:

  • Traffic management legislation
  • Job role and responsibilities
  • Conflict management.

You will learn on the job in the work environment. You will complete an online multiple-choice examination.

What Is Involved With Delivering This Course?

To deliver these qualifications you will need qualified assessors - you can train internal members of staff or recruit specially.
You will need suitably qualified staff to carry out training and assessment.
You will also need suitable facilities to carry out the required training to enable learners to achieve industry standards.

Centres currently offering the City & Guilds Level 2 Award for Civil Enforcement Officers (Parking) (1889-01) can gain fast-track approval.

Centres may use the fast-track form if: here have been no changes to the way the qualifications are delivered, and they meet all of the approval criteria in the fast-track form guidance notes.

Fast-track approval is available for 12 months from the launch of the qualification. After 12 months, the centre will have to go through the standard Qualification Approval Process. The centre is responsible for checking that fast-track approval is still current at the time of application.
There are no eligibility requirements.

Level 2

Level 2 is ideal if you are working, or looking to work, in the parking sector and have some relevant knowledge and skills, usually from a role where you've been supervised.

This qualification comprises one mandatory and four optional units:

Mandatory

  • Manage conflict in the enforcement of parking control and management.

Optional

  • Roles and responsibilities of civil enforcement officers operating under traffic management legislation.
  • Roles and responsibilities of parking attendants operating under road traffic regulation act 1984 legislation.
  • Roles and responsibilities of parking enforcement officers carrying out parking control and enforcement on private land.
  • Roles and responsibilities of CCTV enforcement officers operating under traffic management legislation.
