Last Updated: 20 Oct 2016
Fundamental to the skills agenda in Wales, Essential Skills qualifications enable learners to develop their knowledge and application of number, communication, digital literacy and employability. Essential Skills qualifications help learners to develop and demonstrate that they can apply these vital skills to a range of situations whilst at work, in learning and throughout life.

Please note:
These are the revised Essential Skills Wales qualifications, introduced from September 2015 and replacing the previous Essential Skills Wales and wider Key Skills qualifications (3768 and 3638-21). For further information about the changes to Essential Skills Wales, please visit our separate Essential Skills support webpage.

Important Notice:
The Asset Management Group who maintain the assessments for Essential Skills have issued a statement regarding the need to amend the controlled assessment tasks for Essential Employability Skills.

The tasks have therefore been temporarily removed from this page & as soon as the reworked versions have been agreed by Qualifications Wales they will be replaced & a further Alert issued. Please visit the update page (link below) to download the statement.
