What Is Involved In Studying This Course?

You can demonstrate the specialist knowledge and skills you have developed, such as:

  • Risk assessment
  • Managing information
  • Health and safety
  • Leading a team
  • Crowd control
  • Dealing with incidents.

You will be assessed on the job in the work environment and compile a portfolio of evidence for assessment.

Level 3
You are working in the rail industry, probably in a supervisory role, and have a great deal of technical skills and knowledge. You have a good record of safety, fault correction and ensuring work meets the required standard. You are looking for recognition of your professional ability and hoping to progress to a more senior managerial role.

This qualification could lead to full-time employment as a supervisor or team leader in the rail transport industry in roles such as:

  • Station supervisor/Manager
  • Control room supervisor
  • Trains supervisor/Manager
  • Signalling supervisor

What Is Involved With Delivering This Course?

To deliver these qualifications you will need qualified assessors - you can train internal members of staff or recruit specially.

You will also need suitable facilities to carry out the required training to enable learners to achieve industry standards.

Level 3 will suit you if you are working in the rail industry, probably in supervisory role, and have a great deal of technical skills and knowledge. You have a good record of safety, fault correction and ensuring that work meets the required standard.

This diploma comprises mandatory and optional units, including:

  • Plan for duty and manage own performance in the rail industry
  • Manage difficult situations in the rail industry
  • Maintain a suitable customer environment in the rail industry.
