New apprenticeships standards in Transport Maintenance

The implementation plan for the apprenticeship reforms is well underway and we are working with employer groups to shape assessment plans for the new apprenticeship standards. We are supporting the following employers groups within the Transport Maintenance sector.

The new apprenticeship standards will be applicable in England only.

Airworthiness and Aviation

The following standards have been approved and assessment plans are still in development:

  • Aircraft Maintenance Fitter / Technician (Fixed and Rotary Wing)

The following standards are in development:

  • Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer
  • Aerospace Software developer
  • Aircraft Certifying Engineer
  • Airworthiness Planning, Quality and Safety Technician
  • Maintenance Mechanic (Military) - Level 2
  • Survival Equipment Fitter (Military) - Level 3

Automotive Retail

The following standards have been approved and assessment plans are still in development:

  • Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (Light Vehicle)

The following standards are in development:

  • Customer Service Advisor
  • Vehicle Parts Operator
  • Vehicle Sales Advisor

Boat Building

The following standards have been approved and assessment plans are still in development: 

  • Boat Builder
