The Advanced Technical Diploma in Business Travel (450) qualification is for you if you are 16 or over and wish to gain employment in one of the travel management companies within business travel. You might have achieved the Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Travel & Tourism before starting this course although it is not essential. Achieving this qualification will provide you with specialist skills and knowledge to gain employment within a travel management company. 

This technical qualification can also form part of the City & Guilds TechBac – an exciting new framework for learning designed to give 14 - 19 year olds the technical and professional skills needed to progress from FE onto an apprenticeship, into university or into the modern jobs market.

To ensure learners develop the wider workplace skills required by employers, TechBac goes above and beyond the technical qualification. What Is Involved In Studying This Course?

By undertaking the Advanced Technical Diploma in Business Travel (450) you will learn the knowledge required by employers in this sector to successfully gain employment within a travel management company. In order to achieve this you will undertake the following mandatory topics:
• Communications and business Skills for Business Travel
• Sales and Marketing in Business Travel
• Travel Management
• Arranging business travel
• Products and services for Business Travel

You will then select 1 of the following topics in order to gain the full qualification:
• Conferences and events - expected to have business focus
• Air Fares and Ticketing
• GDS – Global Distribution System (Online Reservation/Booking System)

Centres and providers work with local employers who will contribute to the knowledge and delivery of training. Employers will provide demonstrations and talks on the industry and where possible work placements will also be provided by the employers.

Successful achievement of Advanced Technical Diploma in Business Travel (450) will lead to a job in a travel management company as a:

Successful completion of this qualification will enable you to apply for jobs in any one of the major travel management companies, such as American Express, Portman Travel, Giles Business Travel for example.
