The Qualifications Curriculum Authority (QCA) has accredited 3 new optional units into the e-Quals IT User award. These units will provide tasters of different IT User units, giving you an opportunity to experience elements of the larger units before deciding the areas in which you want to further develop your skills. The new units are as follows:

  • Communication through IT consisting of Word Processing, Using e-mail and Using the Internet

These units will be available from September 2005.

Digital Imaging and Design through IT

  • Digital Imaging
We are expanding our range of e-Quals units and have recently submitted a Digital Imaging unit (level 2) to QCA for accreditation. The aim of this unit is to enable you to create and prepare digital images for a variety of proprietary software. The emphasis is on using software to acquire, enhance and adjust images rather than on artistic content
  • Design through IT
This will also be a mixed-user skill unit combining the DTP, Website Design and Digital Imaging units, again allowing you to experience elements of all three areas.

These two units will be available from October 2005.
