Each core employability skills section has an associated Skills Statement which states the key outcomes a learner will achieve from that section in Skills Zone.
It also follows a common pedagogy of Discover, Think, Explore, Discuss and Reflect to guide the learner through each skill area.
Using the Open Badges assessment framework, Skills Zone acknowledges learners’ work- ready characteristics in the form of digital badges. There are two levels of badges that learners can achieve: Work Ready and Expert. These digital credentials can be exported to a Mozilla backpack or My CV and displayed on the learner’s LinkedIn profile.
My CV is a CV template which is automatically populated with data from Skills Zone. Learners are also able to upload other key information including qualifications, work experience and references. My CV can be distributed online and even used to create multiple CV’s for applying for different types of jobs, or further study applications.
The Performance Optimiser allows tutors track the performance of individual learners and groups through helpful analytics. Through this, tutors have a clear understanding of which learners are competently progressing through Skills Zone and which they need to support.
Built using responsive design principles, the Skills Zone platforms and My Skills support access from any mobile, tablet or computer device. Learners can access to content on-the-go, promoting more effective peer-to-peer and student-tutor interactions.
