Retail Assistant

Do you know what sells and what doesn’t? Do you like meeting and helping people? Does going to the shops every day sound like a dream job to you? Then why not consider a career in retailing.

As a retail assistant you could find yourself dealing with customers - answering queries, accepting payments and wrapping goods, displaying and ordering stock for your customers and helping to run a product section, department or an entire store.

A career in retail can be whatever you want it to be.

Would you like to work in an electronic gadget store? Or a boutique fashion outlet. How about an expensive department store? Or maybe you love food and the idea of selling fresh produce.

If your passion is for fashion or food, with the right qualifications and experience there are excellent prospects for career development in the retail sector. In the head offices of many major retailers you'll find people in senior positions making important decisions that started out just like you on the shop floor.
