Decision to temporarily cease printing –
Covid-19

Updated 16 July – Announcement – dispatching paper certificates

We have recently reviewed our decision to temporarily pause certificate dispatch to centres, and we can now confirm that starting from September 2020, we will start dispatching to centres certificates that were printed in March 2020 onwards.

We will prioritise dispatching them by order of certificate confirmation dates in the Walled Garden. Please note that we will be dealing with a backlog of certificates so this might not reach your centre until the second week of September in the UK, and not until the third week of September for International centres. We will try our best to dispatch them as soon as we can, however, postal and courier services may still be restricted by local rules and restrictions.

This decision is based on the understanding that most of our centres will start going back to their premises in September. If government advice changes in the next few weeks, we will review this again accordingly.

In the meantime, you may continue using myCertis to download PDF copies of the certificates. If you have any issues, please contact our Customer Services team at centresupport@cityandguilds.com so we can support you with your particular circumstance.

Going forward we are reviewing our approach to the use and issuing of paper in light of changes in the market place and our commitment to being a responsible and sustainable organisation. At the same time we are gaining customer insight to ensure we are well set for the future to serve centre and learner needs.. We will update customers on the direction of this work in the coming months.

Updated 22 May - Temporary suspension of printing and delivery of hard copy City & Guilds and ILM certificates

Over the last few weeks, the impact of Covid-19 has affected the entire market in which we operate with the majority of our customers closing their premises and moving to alternative remote working models.

As a result, over the past few weeks we have encountered increasing challenges in securely delivering hard copy certificates. Data security is a major priority for us and we need to ensure your organisation and learner data is protected.

In light of these challenges we have reviewed the printing and delivery of hard copy certificates. As a result, we have taken the decision to temporarily pause printing of hard copy certificates with immediate effect.

You will continue to have access to Results and Certificate confirmation via the Walled Garden. Furthermore, you will be able to access e-certificates of City & Guilds qualification certificates online through our myCertis provision.

Results, information and e-certs

If you need to download certificates for your learners, please refer to our e-certs service.

Our e-certs are globally accessible, totally secure and completely reliable. They can be verified by visiting the e-Certification verification web page and manually entering the learner name and certificate authentication code. For more information please visit the dedicated website.

If you are currently unsure if you have access to myCertis, please contact Customer Services at centresupport@cityandguilds.com or your international branch office. We hope that you understand the reasons for the decision to temporarily suspend print and dispatch in the current circumstances, and we believe that this is the right thing to do at this point in time.

As the situation evolves, we will be undertaking a monthly review and aim to return to normal procedures at an appropriate time.

If you think your learners will be disadvantaged by this decision, please contact Customer Services – centresupport@cityandguilds.com.
