Brenda Griffin

Brenda came late in to the beauty industry in her 30s while living in Hong Kong. She studied at the prestigious Frederique Deleage French Beauty School. She went on to manage the beauty department of Jacques Dessagne in HK. She had been in recruitment sales for several years before that, after a few years as Cabin Crew.

In 1998, bringing together her skills in sales and beauty, Brenda was employed by UK beauty distributor, Light Concept Nails. Back in those days gel nails were a new thing and the business went from strength to strength. Light Concepts Nails was rebranded to Beauty Concepts International (BCI) Ltd. and Brenda became the Director of Training & Business Development, a position she still holds.

Brenda runs a UK wide team of freelance beauty & podiatry trainers. She is also an international trainer for Wilde Cosmetics in Germany, travelling to other English-speaking countries and supporting the international distribution network and the LCN Nail Bar franchise.

In her current position Brenda has been a judge for the Scratch Stars awards, The first Finish Nail Competition and the first Maltese nail competition. She is someone who has watched the beauty industry in the UK grow from strength to strength over almost 20 years and she is keenly aware that quality education, from experienced professionals who inspire others is the key to the success.

She has worked for City & Guilds as a consultant for the new technical awards, she sits on the C&G Beauty Industry Advisory Board and is also a member of the JCCP Aesthetic Practitioners sub-committee. She has also worked with VTCT in the development of the new Level 4 Award in Microblading.
