Julie McFadden


Julie worked in various roles within the insurance industry, from claims assessor to managing a team of claims auditors, for 23 years.

In 2000, Julie took the opportunity to study complementary therapies and has been involved in the therapy industry for 17 years as a practitioner and salon owner, offering lots of therapies. She became a lecturer in complementary therapies at Chichester College, teaching all aspects of complementary therapies including her passion, reflexology and business.

Julie enjoys her role at FHT as it allows her to combine both her insurance, complementary therapies and teaching experience. As the Compliance Manager, Julie’s duty is to ensure that FHT is compliant in its role as an insurance broker, which is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. She reviews all areas of insurance for students and members requiring insurance to ensure that they are covered for the treatments, but also keeping up-to-date with new qualifications and more importantly, new technology in the industry and ensuring that members’ insurance meets the individual member’s needs.

Also, as the Registrar, it is Julie’s responsibility is to ensure that FHT members meet the required standards in order to appear on the Professional Standards Authority Accredited Register for Complementary Health and Social care.
