Green Deal Advisor (6066)

The Green Deal is the UK Government's flagship policy on energy efficiency in buildings. The Green Deal assessment process will make recommendations for energy efficiency improvements at a property and predict the likely energy savings were the improvements to be installed. The Assessment process is undertaken by a qualified Green Deal Advisor.

These qualifications will enable the learner to become Green Deal Advisors, producing the Green Deal Assessment Report using relevant and approved software.
These qualifications have been specifically developed for practising Domestic and Non-Domestic Energy Assessors, and any new learners wishing to provide Green Deal Advice.

General Information

What Is Involved In Studying This Course?

You'll cover things like:

  • Ability to produce a Green Deal Assessment Report
  • Ability to provide comprehensive energy efficiency advice to domestic or non-domestic customers
  • Ability to use approved software and interpret the recommendations.

You will learn on the job in the work environment and through classroom-based activities.

Assessment methods are to be confirmed.

Which Level is right for me?

Level 3
You are working in the building sector and have some technical skills in and knowledge of energy assessment. You work with minimum supervision and have a good record of safety, fault correction and ensuring that work meets the required standard.

Level 4
You are working in domestic and/or non-domestic energy assessment, and looking to expand the scope of your day-to-day work to higher-level, more complicated commercial and public sector buildings.

What Is Involved With Delivering This Course?

To deliver these qualifications you will need suitably qualified staff to carry out training and assessment.

You will also need suitable facilities to carry out the required training to enable learners to achieve industry standards.

Each learner should have experience of the buildings sector, and may already be a qualified Domestic or Non-Domestic Energy Assessor.

Level 4

Non-domestic buildings are often more varied than domestic properties, so the assessment method will necessarily need to be more complex in order to provide appropriate recommendations for the property.

This qualification is for candidates wishing to become a Green Deal Non-Domestic Advisor. It is relevant to both new entrants and existing Non-Domestic Energy Assessors.
