Social Care Induction for Wales Units (3623)

The social care induction units, developed in partnership with Care Council Wales, have been designed for learners who work or wish to work in a range of social care settings in Wales. They allow learners to develop knowledge and understanding about key aspects of social care practice, safe working and value base that are recognised as essential parts of the social care induction framework for Wales.

These units  will be of interest to individuals currently working or wishing to work in  social care in Wlaes.  They will be of paricular interest for workers within Residential Childcare for whom completion of the full Social Care Induction Framework for Wales is a mandatory requirement in Wales.

What Is Involved In Studying This Course?
The untis cover a range of topics, such as :
  • Introduction to communication within a social care context in Wales
  • Introduction to the role of the social care worker in Wales
  • Introduction to safeguarding in social care in Wales

What Careers Can This Lead To?
The completion of the units can help candidates progress into employment in social care in a range of settings in Wales. In particular, they will be useful for candidates currently working or wishing to work in Residential Childcare, for whom the completion of the full Social Care Induction Framework for Wales in a mandatory requirement in Wales.
