The Level 2 Technical Award in Digital Technologies (KS4) allows you to explore how digital technologies are used in everyday life. If you are interested in how information is communicated in different ways, why we use networks, what to consider when creating web pages and how you can ensure data you gather is of good quality, then this qualification is for you.

The Level 2 Technical Certificate, Level 3 Advanced Certificate and Level 3 Advanced Extended Diploma in Digital Technologies (KS5) are for you if you are 16 plus and want to experience practical application and development of skills to work in the digital technology industry. Learners will explore a wide range of industry areas including systems infrastructure, application development, web development and social media, cyber security, business analysis, telecoms/unified communications.

What Is Involved In Studying This Course?
Learners interested in the Level 2 Technical Award in Digital Technologies will study compulsory topics including:
• Principles of digital technology
• Digital technology communications
• Creative use of digital technology
• Collection and use of data

Learners interested in the Level 2 Certificate in Digital Technologies will study compulsory topics including:
• Introduction to Digital Technologies
• Cyber Security
• Introduction to supporting users

Learners will choose to specialise in one of three pathways in:
• Software & Applications support
• Network and Infrastructure support
• Web & Social Media support

Learners interested in the Level 3 Advanced Technical Certificate and Extended Diploma(s) in Digital Technologies will study compulsory topics including:
• project management
• information security
• networking fundamentals
• digital business communication
• software development fundamentals
• collection and analysis of data
• enterprise technologies.

Learners taking the Extended Diploma will continue to specialise in one of six additional optional topics, including:
• systems infrastructure
• application development
• web development and social media
• cyber security
• business analysis
• telecoms/unified communications.
