Workplace Skills – for your success

  • Workplace Skills will give you the confidence you need to succeed in the jobs market
  • You’ll interact directly with employers. For example, this year the BBC is sponsoring the Team Challenge
  • It teaches you the key employability skills that employers look for
  • It gives you skills and qualifications to enhance your CV
  • It gives you the opportunity to achieve a Project Qualification in your subject area. At Level 3 these qualifications carry UCAS points to enable you to progress to university
  • It gives you the freedom to learn at your own pace anytime and anywhere – our digital learning platform, Skills Zone, can be accessed from mobile phones and tablets for use at home or on the go

What will I do on Workplace Skills?

Through this programme you’ll complete:

  • MySkills elearning – rich elearning content that helps you to develop the key employability skills needed by all employers
  • Team Challenge  – a national competition that is set and judged by leading employers, such as  the BBC
  • Project Qualification – a project that helps you to develop independent study skills and involves planning, research, critical thinking, and presentation skills
  • Work Placement – if you’re 16 or over, you must do a work placement. TechBac supports you with elearning and an interactive logbook to track what you’ve learnt on your placement
