NAPIT Group Ltd

NAPIT Training Ltd works with a network of approved training centres nationwide that improve the skills of professional electrical installers by training them to the highest industry standards.

They spoke to us about their challenges and how recognition of their training from City & Guilds has helped them win new business.

The challenge

NAPIT work with clients across many sectors of building services engineering including electrical, plumbing, heating and renewable technologies. At times they found that delivering qualifications could be challenging and they needed an alternative way to demonstrate training competence for their clients.

The solution

NAPIT have worked with City & Guilds for a number of years and in 2014 began to engage on training recognition. Through recognising training programmes that NAPIT developed for their clients they were able to provide external validation of competence and excellence. Their clients found the process of taking their bespoke in-house training courses, and improving them to meet industry standards, hugely beneficial, not only for them as businesses but also for the learners that knew that the City & Guilds certification was recognised by employers.

The result

Over the last three years NAPIT have developed eight training programmes across their client base using the high quality benchmark model provided by City & Guilds. They have trained over 2000 candidates across many different clients and industry sectors, and work closely with the City & Guilds team to run skills gap analyses for their clients. Showcasing the work that they have done, and are doing, with City & Guilds recently opened up an opportunity with the military to train over 500 service leavers.

"Large industry employers love the fact that we work with City & Guilds. The brand recognition, trust and confidence that it provides to them and their employees is invaluable. For us, as a training provider, it provides the validity and credibility of a trusted brand that opens doors to win new business.

"We are really excited about the new Assured service, which includes digital credentials. Digital credentialing is the way forward and not only allows individuals to showcase their achievements it also allows companies to clearly assess skills gaps and fill these accordingly for business benefit."
