Riam Institute of Technology (RiamTec) is the largest City & Guilds centre in South East Asia, delivering programmes in mechanical, electrical and automotive engineering and culinary arts.

The Institute is leading the way in graduate employability, thanks to its strategic partnerships with industry and higher education, and its commitment to providing a world class training environment.

Over the years, RiamTec has established collaboration with a number of global and international companies who are actively involved in the programme development and offer internship opportunities for RiamTec learners.

For engineering and related fields, students get a chance to experience real work environment at leading companies such as Bosch, the Samling Group of Companies, Shin Yang GroupTractors Malaysia and the Woodman Group, just to name a few. Many RiamTec students perform so well during their internship that they are offered employment with these companies upon graduation.

RiamTec also works with Petra Resources, which provides operation and maintenance services, including manpower and supervision to the oil and gas industry. Petra Resources serves clients such as ExxonMobil, Talisman Malaysia, Nippon Oil Malaysia, Sarawak Shell, Sabah Shell, and PETRONAS Carigali.

Apart from its strong industry links, RiamTec is also well known for the high quality of its facilities. Candidates on the motor vehicle courses practice their skills on training cars from global brands such as Mercedes Benz, BMW, Audi, Nissan and Toyota, Mitsubishi and Honda.

To facilitate progression into higher education, RiamTec has established partnerships with universities in Australia, Canada, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand and the UK.

The UK is a popular study destination for RiamTec graduates, a number of them have used their City & Guilds qualification to progress into a UK degree programme, with advanced entry. A number of students have graduated from the University of Sunderland and Kingston University, and some have even gone on to study for a postgraduate degree at the University of Oxford.

RiamTec students cannot speak highly enough of their time at the Institute. They all believe that RiamTec has changed their lives, for the better, and set them on the path to future success.

We will be featuring RiamTec graduates on these pages over the coming month, so make sure you come back to read about their stories.
