North Lancashire Training Group is one of the largest training providers in the UK. Through its partnership with Job Centre Plus, the Group teaches the essential skills that people need to be work-ready. The Group was formed in 1969 by a cluster of 16 furniture companies in the North West of England, and offers apprenticeships in areas such as Furniture Manufacturing, Hospitality & Catering, Management, Warehousing and Business Administration.
Over the past few years, NLTG has seen a lot of success through City & Guilds' Medals for Excellence programme, and the subsequent Lion Awards. On the back of its success, NLTG won the Recognition of Centre Excellence award at the Lion Awards in both 2012 and 2013. It has also been applauded for its positive impact on the local community, by offering courses specifically for unemployed people.
In our video, staff from NLTG talk about their commitment to helping people achieve their goals, and what has worked particularly well about their approach.
