City & Guilds has officially launched its new construction portfolio
following extensive consultation with its customers. Customers will now have access to an extensive suite of NVQs, VRQs and the related assessments, as well as all the necessary qualification materials. A new suite of Construction Skills qualifications will also be available from September, with additional qualifications being scoped for the future.
All of the qualifications are underpinned by a state-of-the-art new teaching and learning support package including innovative e-learning content that will be rolled out from mid-August.
Prior to the launch, City & Guilds worked extensively with its customers and key people from across the industry to gain valuable insight to shape its offer.
Kirstie Donnelly, Director of Product Development, Learning & Technology, said the industry has always represented one of the heartlands of City & Guilds, which is why it was so important to design a compelling proposition for customers, learners and employers alike.
‘Over the past year, we have truly worked in partnership with our customers to bring to the market a flexible construction offer built on quality assessments and units and new teaching and learning resources.
‘We have designed every element to meet the current and future needs of the construction industry,’ she concluded.
Clive Jones, Construction Manager at Coleg Gwent, said: “The City & Guilds brand is worth its weight in gold. Their finger is on the pulse and to see them back in the construction picture can only be a good thing.
“I am confident that City & Guilds’ return to the construction landscape will be a successful one and one that [couldn’t] come quickly enough."
