To deliver these qualifications you will need suitably qualified staff to carry out training and assessment.

To offer these qualifications it is advised that you are able use industry standard software facilities with flexibility for varied hardware and software specifications.

Particularly at higher levels the hardware, software, and print facilities should be of high standard in order to facilitate candidates producing work to a professional level.

What's involved in studying this course?

The qualifications cover the most commonly used conventions in industry standard word processing software, the checklist of concepts covered can be found in the qualification handbook and examination guides.

During the a course you will be assessed in a variety of methods, including through practical exercises. The final assessment is by a City & Guilds set exam in time conditions. Please refer to the examination guide for additional details on assessments, sample papers, mark schemes and examiner recommendations.

The appropriateness of a level to meet your needs will depend on your familiarity with word processing software, for those with little or no experience, the Essential level would be appropriate. Tutors should be consulted for further advice.
