With guidance a learner will be able to operate information and communication software or hardware with knowledge and understanding at the relevant level in a variety of topics they undertake.
The qualifications can be delivered in either the classroom or the workplace. Learners are assessed through:
- Portfolio of evidence
- Scenario based assignments
- Using 'expert witnesses' from within an organisation
- Observation
- Professional discussion
- A combination of the above.
Physical resources
Centres must provide access to sufficient equipment in the centre or workplace to ensure candidates have the opportunity to cover all of the practical activities.
Centres are encouraged to gather evidence through the use of an e-portfolio like Learning Assistant from City & Guilds, though tools in current use are also acceptable.
