South Asia

Our history in the region

For 120 years, City & Guilds has been offering qualifications throughout South Asia through businesses and centres.

In 1890, City & Guilds opened its first office in Sri Lanka, focusing on six main qualifications: Construction, Transport, Engineering, Telecommunications, Hospitality and Hair & Beauty.

Today, we have expanded to Pakistan and Bangladesh where we have structured our training to enable learners to gain their first job and are a global hub for labour migration, particularly to the Middle East.

What we do in South Asia

In South Asia, we help meet local demand and fulfil our mission to develop individuals, institutions and countries through education. We do this by offering internationally recognised qualifications that address specific training needs in the region.
