What Is Involved In Studying This Course?

This taster qualification covers the essentials for getting started in the industry, including:

  • health and safety
  • customer service
  • workplace skills.

You will learn in the classroom and in a workplace-based environment.

Assessment will be through assignments, practical demonstration and multiple-choice examinations.

What Is Involved With Delivering This Course?
In order to offer this award you will need suitably qualified staff to carry out training and assessment.

You will also need suitable facilities to carry out the required training to enable learners to achieve industry standards.
Centres may design course programmes of study in any way that best meets the needs and capabilities of their candidates and satisfies the requirements of the qualification.

When designing and delivering the course programme, centres might wish to incorporate other teaching and learning that is not assessed as part of the qualification. This might include the following:

  • Introduction to personal workplace skills
  • Health and safety for the workplace
  • Principles of customer service in hospitality leisure travel and tourism
  • Food safety in catering.
