Our commitment to inclusion and diversity

Delivering our purpose with more impact: Our commitment to Inclusion & Diversity

 The City & Guilds Group is committed to improving diversity & inclusion within the way we work, and in how we deliver our purpose; to help people and organisations develop the skills they need for growth.

We are actively pursuing, implementing and reviewing working practices that enable a diverse and inclusive business strategy and working environment that are truly representative and supportive of our colleagues, customers and communities.

We are doing this through our strategy of:

  • Addressing equity of opportunity for our colleagues – making sure that everyone has an equal opportunity to grow;

  • Creating an inclusive culture – making sure that everyone feels they can belong and deliver their best work;
  • Embedding Inclusion & Diversity in our organisation through actions that create long-term sustainable change, that improve products and services and the way we work;
  • Addressing diversity through data taking action to highlight and address gaps in data and diversity/ representation.

We believe

We believe differences should be respected and valued. We are working towards a culture that enables colleagues and those we work with to be themselves and feel supported to meet their full potential and deliver their best work. We know that building a diverse and inclusive workforce will result in highly engaged colleagues, improved service for our customers and greater impact of our purpose.

You can see our Inclusion & Diversity Policy here. This policy applies to our colleagues when we work and when we represent the organisation. Our clients, customers, partners and suppliers will be made aware of this policy and are expected to operate within it.

Content Editors Guide

We want to increase the impact of our purpose by making sure the way we work and the products and services we offer, changes people’s lives regardless of their background or experience.

To help create more inclusive content and learning material we recommend using our editor’s guide

Removing barriers

We believe in driving meaningful change and removing barriers for people to access skills. We want to empower and equip people from different backgrounds and experiences and work with organisations to help promote and share learning about the power of skills development. Find out more about how the work we do through our Foundation team that supports our inclusion and diversity commitment.

Our data

We are committed to transparent and responsible practices around our data and data reporting.  See our I&D policy for more information about how we treat and use our data.

You can find our gender pay gap report for 2021 (with data as of 5th April 2020) here.

As we grow our data we will keep sharing and updating this page.
