Our proud history in Africa

With deep roots across Africa, City & Guilds began its journey in the early 1950s, providing certification in East Africa.

With a profound need for upskilling, we have been able to expand and help people and businesses across Africa by providing qualifications, assessment and credentialing solutions.

Since then, we have been established as the leading skills awarding body, setting the standard across Africa and around the world.

In 2014, City & Guilds acquired Kineo South Africa, which enabled us to strengthen our offer to employers providing workplace learning.

Today, we have expanded our reach to more than 14 countries around Africa and continue to live by our purpose; to help people into a job, develop on the job and move on to the next one.
