Assessment

How will apprentices demonstrate occupational competence?

City & Guilds' assessment approach enables apprentices to demonstrate occupational competence through activities that reflect the realities of modern marketing practice. Assessment focuses on the practical application of knowledge, skills and behaviours within workplace contexts, allowing apprentices to evidence their ability to contribute to marketing campaigns, create content, analyse performance and support stakeholder engagement.
The combination of a project report with presentation and questioning, alongside a professional discussion, enables apprentices to demonstrate both their practical marketing capability and the professional judgement required to support successful marketing outcomes. Assessment evidence can be generated through real workplace projects and activities, ensuring a holistic demonstration of occupational competence.

Apprentices will achieve one of the following grades:
  • Pass
