The City & Guilds Skills Awards have been designed to provide a broad introduction to essential practical skills in areas of work as diverse as construction, engineering, hospitality and IT.

The Skills Foundation Awards provide practical skills to enable learners to undertake jobs at a basic entry point.

The Skills Proficiency Awards build on the skills acquired from the Skills Foundation Awards. They also offer the opportunity for formal recognition of practical skills for people already working in occupational areas but with no formal qualifications.

What Is Involved With Delivering This Course?

The awards are flexible with practical assessment only; this means that language is not a barrier to assessment. The awards can be used either as a complete training programme for new candidates or to assess the competence of more experienced ones. Consequently, programme duration is flexible.

Certificates are awarded for gaining and demonstration of knowledge.
