Flexible Workforce Development Fund

Flexible Workforce Development Fund 2019/20

In December 2016, the Scottish government announced the introduction of a Flexible Workforce Development Fund (FWDF) to provide apprenticeship levy-paying employers with workforce development training to up-skill and re-skill their existing workforce.

The FWDF is a direct response to feedback from a consultation on the introduction of the UK government apprenticeship levy. Currently, all levy-paying employers in Scotland across the private, public and third sector can access FWDF, with up to £15,000 to address priority skills gaps to create tailored training programmes with local colleges. The application window for the financial year 2019-20, is open from 1 August 2019 to 31 July 2020.
