Assessing occupational competence in mechatronics maintenance

The Mechatronics Maintenance Technician EPA helps organisations improve productivity, operational efficiency and manufacturing performance through the development of skilled technicians who can maintain complex automated equipment safely and effectively.

The programme is ideal for those working in:

    Automotive and aerospace manufacturing

    Mechanical maintenance

    Logistics and automated warehousing

    Food and drink manufacturing

    Pharmaceutical manufacturing

    Defence engineering and manufacturing

Aligned to the ST1326 occupation standard apprentices demonstrate their ability to maintain equipment performance while supporting organisational targets relating to safety, quality, delivery, availability and cost. This could include installation, testing, fault finding, rectification, modification and planned maintenance.

Apprentices are also expected to work effectively with a range of teams, contractors and customers, while complying with health and safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
