Digital Credentials support for centres

Help your learners easily share and amplify their achievements online

We understand that your learners work hard to achieve success in their programmes. So, it is important to help them recognise and share their achievements in a way that enables skills and career progression.

City & Guilds and ILM award digital credentials to learners on successful completion of their programmes. These secure and verifiable digital badges enable learners to share what they have achieved in a fast and credible way.

In addition to the existing online certificates of achievement for individual components and the final overall grade, we also issue learners a graded digital credential when they complete their programme with us.

Set up your learners to receive digital credentials

We automatically issue digital credentials for the majority of our qualifications to help your learners securely and credibly showcase their skills, as well as connect with peers and employers instantly.

To make sure that your learners receive their badge, it is essential that you upload their personal email address into Walled Garden.

You can upload an email address when you first register your candidate in the platform, at a later date, or as part of a bulk upload if you’d like to do it for multiple candidates at once.

Learn more in the step-by-step guides below.

How to upload an email address for an individual candidate

Step 1 Log into the Walled Garden and navigate to the 'Place an order' for the required qualification.

Step 2 Click on the Named registration tab.

Step 3 Add the learner’s personal details and expand the 'Add optional details' field. Add the learner’s personal email address and select confirm.

Recognising skills progression with digital credentials

We know that colleges and training providers are dedicated to helping learners prepare for life and work beyond their education, and employers are increasingly valuing skills as their hiring criteria. A way to enable and support learners' progress to employment or higher education is through digital credentials.

In our Recognising skills progression webinar, we talked about the value that they offer learners and employers. Watch the recordings to learn more.
