This qualification allows candidates to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in Wall and Floor Tiling.
You have some knowledge and basic skills in wall and floor tiling or carrying out building maintenance work - probably from a role where you work under supervision. You want recognition for your skills, giving you the chance to take on more responsibility.

We have produced sample tests to enable tutors and learners to experience the look and feel of e-volve prior to sitting the test, and also experience the type and style of question that will be asked in the test.

Level 1

This level allows candidates to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in Tiling.

It covers the following skills:
  • Apply and Fix Tiling Materials to Wall and Floor Installations
  • Handle and Store Tiling Materials and Components
  • Mix Tiling materials
  • Prepare Tiles for fixing to wall and Floor Installations
  • Set Out Tiling Components

This qualification allows candidates to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in Tiling.

It covers the following skills:
  • Preparing Backgrounds for Tiling
  • Forming sand and cement screeds
  • Tile Wall Surfaces
  • Tile Floor Surfaces
Our Extended Diplomas are intended for use as part of apprenticeships for learners just starting out in construction trades, typically at age 16. Centres are advised to use both the Level 1 and Level 2 handbooks, which contain all the units for the extended diplomas.
