These qualifications are designed to be delivered as a stand-alone qualification, or run along side other programs of learning, for example a study program. 

7618-02 Level 2 Award in Retrofit
This qualification is aimed at learners aged 16 and above who have recently entered into the construction industry. This qualification is also suitable for tradespeople who desire to develop or improve their knowledge of retrofit in the construction industry. It is also for those without retrofit experience (electricians, joiners, plumbers, plasterers, bricklayers etc) who may wish to work in the related field of retrofit professional roles such as a retrofit assessor. The Award qualification has CITB grant funding available. 

7618-12 Level 2 Certificate in Retrofit
This qualification is aimed at learners aged 16 and above who have recently entered into the construction industry. This qualification is also suitable for tradespeople who desire to develop or improve their knowledge of retrofit in the construction industry especially PAS2035/2038. It is also for those without retrofit experience (electricians, joiners, plumbers, plasterers, bricklayers etc) who may wish to work in the related field of retrofit professional roles such as a Retrofit Advisor, Retrofit Assessor, Retrofit Co-ordinator, Retrofit Designer, Retrofit Installer and Retrofit Evaluator. The Certificate qualification has CITB grant funding available.

7618-03 Level 3 Certificate for Retrofit Advisors - Now Live 
This qualification is aimed at learners ages 16 and above who are interested in entering the construction industry as a Retrofit Advisor. It is suitable for all who desire to develop or improve their knowledge of retrofit and the important role the Retrofit Advisor has in the entire process. The qualification provides learners with knowledge of the retrofit installation process, communication skills, health and safety and is underpinned by learners developing knowledge of the impact towards climate change and sustainability.

General Information

What Is Involved In Studying This Course?

The further you progress through our Retrofit qualifications the deeper you will delve into the Retrofit sector and into PAS2035/2028. You will develop and deepen your knowledge and understanding of the Retrofit sector and the Retrofit roles including, Retrofit Advisor, Retrofit Assessor and Retrofit Coordinator. 

These qualifications can be delivered in a number of ways and contextualised to suit learners and the centres delivery. For each qualification you will cover a range of key topics, ensuring the criteria of the qualification is delivered. The criteria is then assessed using a range of assessment methods including holistic assessment. 

What Careers Can This Lead To?

These qualifications provide a natural progression route onto the next, allowing for sequential learning to your target job role. 

The Level 2 Award provides a basic level of awareness and understanding, which is built upon by completing the Level 2 Certificate. With these qualifications you can gain work experience in the Retrofit sector. 

To progress your Retrofit career, you can then embark onto Level 3 qualifications. City & Guilds offers the Level 3 Domestic Energy Assessor qualification, which can be found here, and Level 3 Retrofit Advisor. These qualifications will open doors into the careers of a Domestic Energy Assessor or Retrofit Advisor. 

To advance your career even further, you can undertake higher level Retrofit qualifications including Level 4 Retrofit Assessor and Level 5 Retrofit Coordinator, where you will be qualified to carry out the Retrofit roles. Our Level 4 Retrofit Assessor qualification is due for release in summer 2024, with the Level 5 Retrofit Coordinator to follow. What Is Involved With Delivering This Course?

You'll need to provide your learners with a suitable learning environment and the resources they need to complete the practical and theoretical aspects of the qualification and staffing who are occupationally competent to deliver.

To offer this qualification, centres will need to gain qualification approval. Please refer to the document Quality Assurance Standards: Centre Approval Process for further information.
