It allows candidates to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment, an apprenticeship and/or career progression in plastering.
There are two pathways for this qualification: 'Solid' or 'Fibrous'
For the 'Solid' pathway. the following specialist areas are covered:
- applying solid plaster to complex internal structures
- producing complex external render finishes
It also covers optional areas including:
- Installing direct dry bond dry lining systems
- Installing mechanically fixed plasterboard
- Run in situ mouldings
For the 'Fibrous' pathway. the following specialist areas are covered, these are all mandatory units:
- Run in situ mouldings
- Producing fibrous plaster components
- Producing complex plasterwork moulds
- Installing complex fibrous plaster components
- Repairing complex decorative fibrous plaster components
