Focussing upon the principles and practices of horticulture in a work-based environment, the learner will be able to start or build on a career in areas of interest, such as landscaping, production horticulture, sports turf or Parks and Gardens.

An award, certificate or diploma in Work-Based Horticulture is for anybody working in the horticulture industry.

You don't need any previous qualifications, but you do need a current job or work placement where you can demonstrate your skills.

What Is Involved With Delivering This Course?

To deliver these qualifications you will need suitably qualified staff to carry out training and assessment.

You will also need suitable facilities to carry out the required training to enable learners to achieve industry standards.

All learners must be employed in the horticulture industry as this is a work-based qualification. You must make sure they can access all the resources they need to complete the qualification.

You're just starting out in the horticulture industry and want a good basic understanding of the work involved in the industry and the different options available - enough to succeed in a job in the sector or move on to further study.
