This qualification has been developed to enable those working or intending to work in the Further Education and Skills sector (FES) to gain a full teaching qualification by meeting the occupational standards developed and approved by employer representatives and other stakeholders across the FES sector. 
This qualification covers all aspects of teaching in the Further Education and Skills (FES) sector and maps fully to the Level 5 Learning and Skills Teacher occupational standard (ST0149).

It includes eight mandatory units: Teaching my subject, Teachers and teaching, Learners and learning, Professional practice, Effective digital and online pedagogies, Action research, Coaching and mentoring and Managing behaviour. 
What Careers Can This Lead To?
Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS), Advanced Teacher Status (ATS), teaching in post compulsory education, MA/M.Ed qualification.
What Is Involved With Delivering This Course?
This qualification was developed by Subject Matter Experts and is based on the qualification framework provided by the Education and Training Foundation (ETF). The qualification has also been through validation with a number of employers.

The content of the qualification is based on the Level 5 Learning and Skills Teacher occupational standard (ST0149).
