Robert Pouton
Technical Advisor for Engineering
Rob began his career in engineering and manufacturing at 16, moving straight from school into a toolmaking engineering apprenticeship. Over the next ten years, he gained extensive experience in CAD/CAM and CNC roles, working predominantly within the automotive sector.
His passion for the industry then led him into education, where he has delivered a wide range of engineering qualifications, from entry level through to higher education, across both mechanical and manufacturing disciplines. The last qualification Rob taught was the Engineering T Level, where he found that students really valued the blend of classroom learning with real-world experience.
“When I saw this role advertised, I instantly knew it was the next step in my career. It allows me to combine my passion for engineering with my love of education, while playing a part in developing the next generation of engineers.”
